Fortify Geauga Newsletter
April 24, 2024
Hello, Friends,
Welcome to a brand new week. This is the Fortify Geauga Newsletter for April 24, 2024.
It’s been a busy week here at Fortify Geauga. We sat down with Mr. Chris Alusheff, Zoning Inspector for Claridon and Chester Townships, to discuss a recent report by the Ohio Senate Select Committee on Housing that could spell trouble for local zoning authority in Geauga County’s townships. Please take a few minutes to learn about this alarming possibility and what you can do to stop it: WATCH: Will the Ohio Senate Move to Usurp Township Zoning Authority?
Listen: Local conservative radio host Bob Frantz interviewed Stephanie Stock, President of Ohio Advocates for Medical Freedom, and Dr. Richard Bartlett about frustrating tactics in the Ohio Senate Health Committee to derail crucial medical freedom legislation (House Bill 73). Find out all about it and how you can help: In Case You Missed It: OAMF President Describes Outrageous Stall Tactics on Crucial Medical Freedom Legislation.
Have you heard about the petition circulating to add two members to the Geauga County Budget Commission? Ohio law allows for two citizens to be elected to the Budget Commission in each county. This petition would put a referendum on the November ballot to allow Geauga County to elect two citizen members. Read more here.
Save the Date: Join us for our May Patriot Potluck on Monday, May 20th at 6:30pm. (Registration required – details here.) We’ll have updates from Chris Alusheff on anticipated Senate legislation to curtail township zoning rights and information about the newly-introduced Ohio Votes Count Act.
If you missed it last week, be sure to catch our Interview with Representative Jennifer Gross (R-45). Representative Gross discussed her legislation to close our primaries, House Bill 210 (currently in the House Government Oversight Committee), the arguments for and against closing our primaries, specific provisions and possible amendments, and other legislation of interest to Ohio conservatives.
As always, thank you for spending a few moments with us. Have a wonderful week.
