Hello, Friends,

Welcome to a brand new week.  This is the Fortify Geauga Newsletter for September 30, 2024.

For most people, election season is just getting started.  But here at Fortify Geauga, our volunteers have been hard at work all Summer preparing for November 5th.  Our Newsletters have been few and far between, as our members are all volunteers who give our time to may different organizations and efforts in the buildup to election season.  We are looking forward to bringing you more frequent content soon!

In the meantime:  do you feel the pressure already?  The campaign signs, television ads, and candidate appearances seem to be non-stop.  Would you like to get together with other conservatives to relax, recharge, and refocus?  Please join us on Saturday, October 5th for an informal potluck among friends:

Vote NO on Issue 1’s Radical Redistricting Scheme.  It’s Summer in Ohio, which means, once again there is a terrible leftist Constitutional Amendment that has just been added to our November ballot.  “Issue 1” has been marketed to sound wonderful, but beware! The nice-sounding phrases like “fair districts” and “citizens over politicians” are not what they seem.  Look past the marketing and see what this radical amendment would actually do and why it’s a very bad deal for Ohio.

Election Integrity is an Ohio issue.  There has been a flurry of activity and news regarding election security issues in Ohio.  If you think election integrity is not an issue in Ohio, think again!  The Hamilton County Board of Elections discovered a coordinated effort to fraudulently change voter registration addresses.  In addition, several Ohio-based and national organizations have sounded alarms on Ohio’s registration, absentee ballot, and voting procedures.  We’ll be adding more resources in the coming weeks to help you stay on top of elections security developments.  For now, here are some steps you can take to Secure Your Ballot for the upcoming election.

Geauga County GOP Reform is Finally Here!  Since we first started meeting, Fortify Geauga has been working toward the goal of reforming our Geauga GOP into the vibrant, effective, conservative body our county deserves.  We are pleased to announce there has been a major change in GOP leadership.  The Central Committee voted last week to elect Joan Windnagel as the new Geauga County GOP Chair.  Ms, Windnagel brings a wealth of experience and dedication, having served as GOP Secretary for 6 years, as a current Board of Elections member, and an elections worker and volunteer for more than 20 years.  She is also the current President of the Geauga County Republican Women’s Club.  We are looking forward to exploring how Fortify Geauga can help the new Geauga County GOP advance conservative values in our county.

Need yard signs?  Fortify Geauga does not print or sell yard signs for candidates or issues, but we know many contacts in the area who do.  If you need signs, contact the Geauga County GOP at 216-673-3772.  You can also contact the Geauga Women’s Republican Club via their Facebook page or at 440-339-6894.  If you still need help, please send us an email at FortifyGeauga@proton.me and we will try to put you in touch with someone who can get you what you need.

Finally, Fortify Geauga Secretary, Molly Nikkila, encourages history-minded patriots to view the “Reagan” movie.  See her review of the film on our Geauga Voices page.

As always, thank you for spending a few moments with us.  Have a wonderful week.
