Now THIS is Exciting! New Geauga GOP meeting high expectations
New Geauga GOP meeting high expectations
If you’ve tried to get involved in the past or you’ve hesitated because of the drama surrounding the party, please give the Geauga GOP another try. They need volunteers from now through Election Day and are prepared to find a task for anyone who wants to help.
Since we first started meeting, Fortify Geauga has been working toward the goal of reforming our Geauga GOP into the vibrant, effective, conservative body our county deserves. We are pleased to announce there has been a major change in GOP leadership, and the new team in charge of our party has sprung into action.
Central Committee members who had felt defeated, undervalued, or just plain confused about how to help are coming out of the woodwork and pitching in to rebuild the party and elect Republican candidates. Community members are volunteering to staff the headquarters and distribute signs. Constituents who had stopped donating have generously reengaged, and leadership is working hard to keep their website updated with relevant information to help constituents prepare for the election.
Like any large organization that’s been operating for a while, there are factions within the Geauga County GOP. There were three candidates in the election for GOP Chair, and of course they each had their group of proponents and detractors. But the unease and drama of that process has dissipated quickly, and many GOP members who were on opposing “teams” have put aside their differences to work together. Previous leadership left many open wounds in our party, and of course there will be a period of adjustment, but for now, there is a remarkable spirit of optimistic industry among Central Committee members and constituents.
Here at Fortify Geauga, we are thrilled to be expecting wonderful things from our Geauga County GOP.
