Hello, Friends!

The May 6th Special Election is one month away.  There are no candidates up for election on the May 6th ballot, but there is one statewide issue, two county tax renewal levies, and local issues in two Geauga County communities.  (The West Geauga issue was retracted and will not appear on the ballot.)  Click here to see the issues on the ballot.

While these “smaller” elections don’t usually garner much attention, many patriots in Geauga County and across the state are working to spread awareness of the statewide issue (Issue 2).  It’s not well publicized, but Issue 2 could have huge impacts on our Geauga County communities. Issue 2 is being called a “Bond Issue” but it’s important to realize ISSUE 2 IS A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT.  We strongly encourage you to read up on Issue 2.  Start here.

Please also take a moment to watch this informative video on Issue 2 from our friends at GFI.  They, along with many conservative groups, are strongly urging a NO vote on this issue.

Mark Pukita (featured it he video above) will be at the April 14th Geauga County Tea Party Meeting to discuss Issue 2.

Also at the 4/14 Tea Party Meeting:  Brian Massie and John Marra will discuss a statewide petition to eliminate property taxes.  Join them Monday, April 14th at 6:30pm at the Metzenbaum Center in Chesterland.

Save the date:  Our next Fortify Geauga meeting will be Thursday, May 22nd.  Details to follow soon.

Reminder:  “Fortify Geauga Citizen Training:  Central Committee Basics” materials available to all.  If you are currently on Central Committee or interested in learning more about it, click here to view and download our materials.
