Speaker:  Jon Plecnik, Lake County Commissioner

Commissioner John Plecnik was sworn in as the 79th Commissioner  of Lake County, Ohio in 2021, and was elected to a second term in a landslide in 2022. Commissioner Plecnik is also known as Professor Plecnik at Cleveland State University, where he has taught tax and estate planning at the law school for over a decade. Plecnik has also taught at Georgetown and North Carolina Central University. Plecnik holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Belmont Abbey, Juris Doctor from Duke, and a Master of Laws in Taxation from NYU. Plecnik co-founded the Duke Journal of Constitutional Law & Public Policy and his research has been cited as authority by the Congressional Research Service and Supreme Court of the United States. My topic will be liberal bias in higher education.
